The security situation in Afghanistan is continually changing, and demands a continuous assessment. Due to the attack on the Hotel Serena in January and intelligence concerning a planned attack on the Norwegian Embassy in Kabul, the current situation is so unpredictable that we have chosen to postpone the photographic field work, in understanding with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was originally scheduled for the spring of 2008. Providing the security situation improves, field work might be conducted during 2008 in the historic cities of Heart and Balkh, the Bamiyan Valley and the important archaeological field of Begram.
